This is one of the reasons I love Amy. She’s like “I’m shit at feelings. Please forgive me. I will punch you awkwardly in the arm until you stop looking sad.”
#UGH I HAVE SO MANY FEELS ABOUT THIS LINE #because it’s heartbreaking and mean and bitter and completely unforgivingly accurate #because Rory has always been the one companion that has never idolized the Doctor #(even Donna with all her yelling has always believed that the Doctor will always save them in the end) #But Rory knows the truth #which is the hard fact that being a companion is brilliant and wonderful but will also always change you #and not always for the better. You take more risks and youwant to impress the Doctor with your cleverness - you want to PROVE you’re The Best #that the Doctor didn’t make a mistake in choosing you as a companion #but when it comes down to it #yes you’re more worldly and always going to put others first and try and save the day #but you’re also going to be the reason that people die; you’re going to be the one who was too late to save them. #The Doctor hates himself for a reason and after you’re a companion for too long #a part of you will start to hate yourself as well for all the moments where you just weren’t fast enough #or all the times when you just weren’t clever enough etc. #Being a companion isn’t just sunshine and daisies and time travel and running hand-in-hand with the Doctor #It’s hard and painful and most people don’t see that - but Rory always has (via winterinthetardis)
